No.38. in my series of short stories. This weeks story is a little shorter as I have been extremely busy setting up my new project. This is about me and my artist dreams being fulfilled as I travel around Tasmania in Charlie my 1927 Austin7. Yes that is me! When I arrive home I will no doubt make up a painting from what I have seen on my journey which has the potential to capture the spirit of exploration, creativity, and the timeless beauty of the landscape and vintage automobiles.
How cute is this car? I love driving it. I have always been a vintage and special interest car enthusiast and this one suits me just for some fun. Driving through the back roads and beautiful quaint little towns and villages of North West Tasmania on a lovely sunny day with Mount Roland as the back drop. Who could ask for anything more? Having always loved to drive, with so many places to see on this lovely island. It will soon be summer and we can once again be out and about. Maybe a picnic down by the Dasher River near Gowrie Park just out of Sheffield and at the base of Mt Roland.
If you haven't been to Tassie you should make it one of the things you need to do, just like I did 17 years ago. Tasmania was meant to be at the most a 5 year stay and the first part of my retirement. Slowing down was never part of my DNA and now I have an Art Gallery and spend a substantial amount of time painting.
I have lived and traveled in so many places all over Australia. At the moment it looks like Tassie is where I will be for quite some time or maybe until the end. By for now I will catch you up again next Tuesday evening. Thanks for hanging in.
Lovely picture with some great scenery 🤩
